PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for insulator that has such electric characteristics as indicating an extremely low dielectric constant and a good insulation property and has also excellent heat resistance, and to provide an insulator that uses the composition. SOLUTION: A cage-type silsesquioxan is mixed with a polybenzoxazole precursor or a polybenzoxazole resin.
