HOLOGRAM REFLECTOR AND REFLECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram reflector capable of attaining a bright display (especially a bright color display) and having excellent moisture resistance, and to provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device by using the reflector. SOLUTION: In the hologram reflector having a reflection layer arranged on the rear surface of a volume phase transmission type hologram having angle selectivity, a barrier layer is formed on at least one surface of the substrate of the hologram reflector. The barrier layer has <=5 ml/m2/24 hr/atom permeability for water vapor. The reflection type liquid crystal display device is obtained by using the reflector.
