PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single action oscillating actuator in which a cover closing an open end of a cylinder can be attached to either left or right end for improving common use of components. SOLUTION: In this single action oscillating actuator, an actuator main body has a cylinder 1, a piston 2 slidably arranged inside the cylinder 1, and an output shaft 3 rotated by sliding the piston 2. A spring device 11 applies spring force to one end of the piston 2. The actuator main body and the spring device 11 can be attached to a case cover 18 covering an end face of the cylinder 1 by a fastening means. The spring device 11 can be attached to either left or right end of the cylinder 1. Rotational direction of the output shaft 3 can thus be varied under reciprocation due to pressurized fluid. A cover 20 closing an open end of the cylinder 1 of a double-acting type can be used to the open end either left or right side in place of the spring device 11.
