PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope observation position detecting and indicating system with which the use conditions of the endoscope to be used can be judged by connecting the endoscope and an indicating means and the need for calibration can be eliminated even if the use conditions of the endoscope is changed during the operation. SOLUTION: The endoscope observation position detecting and indicating system having an observation position detecting means for detecting the observation position of the endoscope 1, a sensor arm 5 as an indicating means for indicating the correlation of position between the observation position detecting means and the endoscope 1, a computing device 7 for computing the endoscope observation position by the sensor arm 5 and a monitor 10 for indicating the endoscope observation position obtained by the computing device 7 further has a positioning pin for determining in one sense the connation state between the endoscope 1 and the sensor arm 5, a micro-switch for detecting the state of connection by the positioning pin and a judging means for judging the state of the endoscope 1 to be used according to the result of detection from the micro-switch.
