PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a suction pipe and an exhaust pipe and with a connecting pipe that is connected well with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the connection pipe apparatus, two air courses are set on an extension pipe. One is a cylindrical suction pipe part that has a communicative connection to the suction side of a motor driven blower and another is a flat exhaust pipe part 42 that has a communicative connection to the exhaust opening of the motor driven blower. Exhaust branches 106, 107 are made to be branched on the both end parts of the exhaust pipe part 42 through a mounting spacing 116. The exhaust branch 107 is fitted on the one end part of a connecting exhaust pipe part 137 of a mounting and fitting cover 131 for design. A seal member is set on the top part of the exhaust branch 106 that protrudes in the axis direction. The exhaust branch 106 of one extension pipe is fitted and inserted into another end of the connecting exhaust pipe part 137 of another extension pipe, then a closely contact part 125, which is positioned at the top part of a seal member 126, is closely connected to the top part of the exhaust branch 107. By setting the seal member 126 on the connecting prat of (the) exhaust air course side, it is possible to prevent dust from blowing up caused by air leakage. Even in a small diameter part where the inside diameter tends to be uneven, it is possible to keep air tightness securely.
