PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve decoding efficiency of a reproduction side, in the case of coding multi-channel voice signals with variable compression ratios. SOLUTION: An audio data area in an audio packet consists of plural PPCM access units, and a PPCM access unit consists of PPCM sync information and a sub-packet. The PPCM sync information contains the number of samples per one packet (40, 80, or 160 according to sampling frequencies), a data rate ('0' in the case of VBR: being an identifier indicating that data in the sub- packet are compressed data), and the sampling frequencies fs and the number of quantized bits Qb, and channel allocation information. |
