PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for growing a crystal, which is capable of producing a large sized crystal sufficient to be subjected to X-ray structure analysis and from which the grown crystal can be easily taken out without being broken. SOLUTION: The device 10 for growing a crystal has a first solid surface 11a and a second solid surface 12a provided on an island 12. When the first surface 11a and the second surface 12a are brought into contact with a solution 14 containing an organic molecule 13 to be crystallized, the surfaces show mutually different zeta potentials. Further, the second surface 12a is able to allow the organic molecule 13 electrostatically adsorb to the second surface 12a more strongly than to the first surface 11a so that the crystal of the organic molecule 13 grows on the second surface 12a. Furthermore, the width of the second surface 12a is controlled in a narrow range of 10 to 200μm so that the crystal of the organic molecule 13 grows while protruding from the second surface 12a.
