PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which a stabilized image is always fixed by preventing excessive oil application to a heat roller during idling. SOLUTION: The supporting member 76 of the fixing device 56 is turned by having a hinge 77 as a supporting point, and is energized to the side of the heat roller 58 by a pressing spring 78, and rotatably supports an oil coating roller 62 at a lower end. A felt supporting member 82 is turned by having a hinge 83 as the supporting point, and is energized to the side of the heat roller 58 by a press spring 84, and supports a cleaning member 79 made of felt by sticking at the lower end. A changeover cam 85 is rotated so as to be in the state of 'the separation of the oil coating roller 62 and the press- contact of the cleaning member 79' during the idling of a main body device, and is rotated so as to be switched in the state of 'the press-contact of the oil coating roller 62 and the separation of the cleaning member 79' when paper enters the fixing device 56.
