PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure drop reducing mechanism which can reduce the pressure drop of an existent membrane type gas meter even when a maximum gas flow rate is increased. SOLUTION: This mechanism has a gas distribution part 3 for exchange having opening parts (a), (b), (c), a', b', and c' having larger opening area than an existent gas distribution part 103 built in the membrane gas meter 1 and valves 10 and 12 for exchange which has the section of a recessed part 54 larger than existent valves 110 and 112, and the existent gas distribution 103 and valves 110 and 112 are replaced with the gas distribution part 3 for exchange and valves 10 and 12 for exchange to reduce a pressure drop.
