摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a semiconductor mode-locking laser in which the wavelength range of optical frequency (a wavelength), to which mode locking is applied, is widened and short pulse light having ps or less can be generated. SOLUTION: In the semiconductor laser, active wave guides having gains to light are connected to the input-side wave guide and two or more of output- side wave guides of an optical filter having action for branching light which is made incident to one input-side wave guide at every different optical frequency in at least two or more of the output-side wave guides, respectively, electrodes for injecting a current are mounted on the active wave guides, and the optical filter is incorporated to a laser oscillator. The sum of the optical distance of the output-side wave guides and the optical distance of the active wave guides connected to the output-side wave guides is equalized mutually.
