PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer of high reliability having a structure suitable for stable protection against a high voltage output. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric body layer and an electrode layer are alternately laminated. Here, a first electrode 10 formed on one surface in the thickness direction in a first partial region in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric transformer, a second electrode 12 formed on one surface in the thickness direction in a second partial region different from the first partial region, and a third electrode 11 so formed on the other surfaces in the thickness direction of the first and second partial regions as to face the first and second electrodes, are provided. A voltage inputted into the first electrode is stepped up and outputted from the second electrode while a voltage is taken out which is proportional to the output of the third electrode.
