摘要 PURPOSE: A subscriber interface device of an MPLS(MultiProtocol Label Switch) system is provided to supply a high IP(Internet Protocol) service by using virtual channel merge and traffic shaping functions. CONSTITUTION: A receiving physical layer processor(200) extracts only ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cells from each transfer frame. A receiving ATM layer processor(201) identifies the ATM cells each VPI(Virtual Path Identifier)/VCI(Virtual Channel Identifier) number, and performs a traffic monitoring and an OAM(Operation And Maintenance) cell process. A receiving traffic manager(202) decides a transmitting priority according to a traffic state of a switch fabric, and transmits the ATM cells to a switch. A transmitting traffic manager(203) decides a delay priority according to a traffic state of a physical link, and transmits the ATM cells to a transmitting ATM layer processor(204). The transmitting ATM layer processor(204) transmits an IP(Internet Protocol) cell to an AAL5(ATM Adaptation Layer5) frame extractor(205), and transmits pure ATM cells to a traffic shaping processor(206). The AAL5 frame extractor(205) assembles the IP cell as an AAL5 frame, and classifies the AAL 5 frame to be divided into the ATM cells, then transmits the ATM cells to the traffic shaping processor(206). The traffic shaping processor(206) transmits IP packet data to a transmitting physical layer processor(207). The transmitting physical layer processor(207) converts the ATM cells into a frame form for transmitting to a subscriber device. A controller(208) manages routing information and OAM information, and transmits generated OAM cells to the transmitting ATM cell processor.
