METHOD FOR MEASURING MOLTEN SURFACE OF INGOT IRON AND MEASURING PROBE

PURPOSE: A method for measuring molten surface of ingot iron and a measuring probe are provided to accurately measure molten surface by preventing effect of ingot iron particle in slag and ingot iron particle generated by gas obtained from bottom. CONSTITUTION: A probe measuring molten surface of ingot iron includes an alumina tube(11) embedding a permanent magnet(5) and a coil(6) arranged at a magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet, a voltmeter(12) connected with the coil, and a branch pipe(4) covering the alumina tube. The probe is deposited at regular speed in a tub having slag at the upper part and ingot iron at the lower part for detecting change time of induced electromotive force generated in the coil. The moved distance of the probe is calculated by using the detected change time of induced electromotive force and deposition speed for measuring the height of molten surface.
