GUARANTEED FRAME RATE USAGE PARAMETER CONTROL SYSTEM IN ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE EXCHANGE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A GFR(Guaranteed Frame Rate) UPC(Usage Parameter Control) system in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) exchange is provided to implement a UPC function of a GER connection by using an existing GCRA(Generic Cell Rate) unit, an individual connection buffer, and a scheduler, so as to easily supply a GER service. CONSTITUTION: A GCRA(Generic Cell Rate) unit(110) performs a UPC(Usage Parameter Control) by considering a PCR(Peak Cell Rate) of a cell unit and a delay variation allowed value, when GER(Guaranteed Frame Rate) cells are inputted. A buffer manager(120) stores the GER cells passing the GCRA unit(110), according to a connection. A scheduler(130) outputs the cells stored in the buffer manager(120), according to a scheduling.
