PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting image data in a plasma display panel apparatus is provided to facilitate a test for the plasma display panel apparatus by detecting image data displayed on the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for detecting image data in a plasma display panel apparatus includes the first and second counting parts(100,110,120,130), a comparing part(140), a logic circuit(150), a control circuit(160) and a display circuit(170). The first counting part(100,110) counts X and Y position values in response to a cursor signal. The second counting part(120,130) counts clock and blanking signals, respectively. The comparing part(140) compares the X and Y position values with the clock and blanking signals. The logic circuit(150) outputs R, G and B data according to the comparison results and the control circuit(160) outputs a control signal to the display circuit(170) corresponding to the comparison results, such that the R, G and B data are displayed on an OSD.
