DEVICE FOR REMOVING FROST OF AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A frost remover of an air conditioner and a controlling method thereof are provided to promptly supply warm wind into an indoor after removing frost without dropping indoor temperature in cooling and heating air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A bypass pipe(90) supply refrigerant to a compressor(10) by connecting a passage between an extension device(50) and an indoor heat exchanger(60) to a passage between the indoor heat exchanger and the compressor. The refrigerant passes through the extension device without passing through the indoor heat exchanger for being supplied to the compressor. A passage-switching unit selectively supplies the refrigerant received form the extension device to the bypass pipe or the indoor heat exchanger. An evaporate unit evaporating the refrigerant returned to the compressor through the bypass pipe to supply the refrigerant into the compressor without passing through the indoor heat exchanger in removing the frost. Thereby, the air conditioner improves heating feeling by discharging warm air after removing the frost without dropping indoor temperature.
