PURPOSE:To obtain a system for facilitating failure analysis of motor unit by providing means for storing information representative of abnormal state of motor which is detected by a driver and transmitted through a communication means to an encoder. CONSTITUTION:Upon occurrence of an abnormality during operation of a motor, a driver 1 interrupts power supply to the motor and transmits alarm information on a communication line 7 to an encoder 3. A CPU in the encoder 3 stores the abnormal state information in a nonvolatile memory 5. The information thus stored can be read out through the driver so long as it is connected with the driver. Even in case of a unit motor, the information can be read out by providing an appropriate device. Since information relevant to occurrence of abnormal state can be known later, failure analysis of unit motor is facilitated and correct information depending on the motor can be obtained. |
