PURPOSE: A backlight assembly for a liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the heat emitting efficiency by improving the structure of a lamp cover. CONSTITUTION: A backlight assembly for a liquid crystal display device comprises a rectangular light guiding plate(100). A lamp assembly(200) is inserted into a side of the light guiding plate(100). A reflective plate(300) is installed at a lower side of the light guiding plate(100) so as to reflect the light. A plurality of optical sheet(400) are provided to focus and scatter the light. A liquid crystal panel(500) is installed on an upper portion of optical sheets(400). A receiving container(600) surrounds sides of the light guiding plate(100), the lamp assembly(200), the reflective plate(300), the optical sheets(400) and the liquid crystal panel. A bottom chassis(700) is coupled to the receiving container(600). |
