DEVICE OPENING AND SHUTTING COVER OF AUTOMATIC TOOL CHANGER

PURPOSE: An opening and shutting device for the cover of an armless ATC(automatic tool changer) is provided to enhance door response during a tool exchange for the armless ATC cover protecting the ATC from chips or impurities. CONSTITUTION: An opening and shutting door(30) of a protecting cover(20) with an opening portion is opened or shut by the operating stroke of a hydraulic cylinder(12). When the door is opened, the tool of a tool magazine plate(14) is exchanged. The tool magazine plate is supported by a fixing bracket(10). The opening and shutting door contains a long hole perpendicularly to the opening portion and the fixing bracket is inserted into the long hole to fix an opening and shutting device(34). The opening and shutting device consists of a first and a second opening and shutting bracket(34a,34b) and a guide pin(34c). The guide pin is proximate to the hinge of the protecting cover when the door is shut and far from the hinge when the door is opened.
