PURPOSE: A variable frequency damper is provided to control frequency finely with moving a mass on a leaf spring regardless of changes of surrounding temperature. CONSTITUTION: A frequency control damper(1) is composed of a box-shaped housing(3) installed in a vibration generating unit, and opened in the upper part; a leaf spring(5) made of elastic material and formed integrally in the upper part of the housing; and a free end(F) extended and arranged in an open part of the housing. A mass(9) is placed far from the free end at high effective frequency in installing the housing in the vibration generating unit to absorb vibration within a range of high frequency. The variable frequency damper absorbs the vibration within a range of low frequency by placing the mass close to the free end of the leaf spring at low effective frequency. The frequency control damper tunes frequency finely with moving the mass on the leaf spring, and reduces vibration precisely.
