PURPOSE: An automatic song selection method using navigation system is provided to select a song corresponding to the running mode automatically. CONSTITUTION: Whether the mode is automatic song selection mode or not is judged as soon as the power of an audio system turns on(S1). A manual song selection mode which driver selects directly like as the past is executed if automatic song selection mode is not(S2). Running information of vehicle is acquired from a navigation system and various kind of equipment of vehicle(S3). A running mode is decided from the running information acquired if the running information of vehicle is acquired(S4). A song agreed with the running mode is selected from a song list stored previously at the audio system(S5). S2 stage is returned if driver requires resetting because he is not satisfied with the selected song through resetting switch(S7). S2 stage is returned again even in case that the running mode is changed during song regeneration(S8). When regeneration of song finished(S9), song agreed with the running mode decided is regenerated by deciding running mode again after returning to S2 stage again.
