PURPOSE: A synchronization method for a receiver and a receiver are provided to perform synchronization of a receiver with a receiver code modulation spread spectrum signal at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: The method uses at least one standard code(r(x)) corresponding to a code which is used for modulation. Based on the method, both frequency shift of a transmitting signal and code phase used for the modulation are decided. The method includes correlation steps(102-105), in which a sample vector forming means that acquires a sample(101) from a received signal to generated sample vectors P(1)-P(N) is used, 1st hartley conversion /R(x) that uses at least one reference code r(x) corresponding to a code used for modulation, a 2nd hartley conversion P(i) is formed by each of sample vectors P(1)-P(N), the results of the 1st hartley conversion /R(x) and the 2nd hartley conversion P(i) are multiplexed, and inverse hartley conversion is applied to each multiplied result MX(i), and an acquisition step(110) where a frequency shift and a code phase are acquired, on the basis of the inverse hartley conversion MX(i) of the multiplied result MX(i).
