PURPOSE: A theft preventing device is provided to avoid theft beforehand by stopping engine start even in case of cutting a wire harness. CONSTITUTION: On turning off a combination switch(1), a battery(6) power is not fed to the combination switch(1). CDI(Capacitor Discharge Ignition)(4) power is earthed to a ground(5) through an a terminal and a b terminal of the combination switch(1). In the state, even though turning on a starter switch, the starter switch is not operated and with stepping on a kick starter arm, generative power is earthed to the ground(5) via a terminal and b terminal of combination switch of the CDI(4) thus engine start is not performed. In case of cutting a wire harness(2) linked with the combination switch, earth function is not performed. Since output power of CDI is not fed to an ignition coil(13) due to cutting of an output line(20), forcible engine start is not achieved. Thereby in case of wire harness cut, output power of CDI is not fed to ignition coil, forcible engine start is prevented in advance and theft does not occur.
