PURPOSE: An apparatus for manufacturing a multi period optical fiber grating and method thereof is provided to use multi period amplitude mask having a variety of on-off ratios. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing a multi period optical fiber grating has the light source(30), the migratory optical fiber(F) and the multi period amplitude mask. The migratory optical fiber(F) has the first optical fiber part(F1) and the second optical fiber part(F2) which is bended from and parallel with the first optical fiber part. The multi period amplitude mask is installed between the light source and the optical fiber and includes the first sector(210) having predetermined on-off ratio and the plurality of second sectors having on-off ratios different from the predetermined on-off ratio.
