PURPOSE: A clearance preventing method of a throttle position sensor is provided to prevent a bad effect on idle control and acceleration by restraining the abnormal change of the output value of a throttle position sensor. CONSTITUTION: A clearance preventing method of a throttle position sensor comprises the steps of: setting up a throttle position sensor with a throttle position sensor learning minimum value while turning on an ignition key; deciding if a throttle position sensor learning condition is satisfied; progressing downward learning until a throttle position sensor output value becomes the same as a throttle position sensor learning value; and progressing upward learning if a throttle position sensor output value is over the throttle position sensor learning value and progressing learning with increased value until the throttle position sensor upward learning value is over the addition of the throttle position sensor learning minimum value and a throttle position upward learning renewal cycle. By limiting increment of throttle position sensor learning value while an ignition key is in an on state, abnormal change of output values of a throttle position sensor is prevented. Therefore, stoppage stillness is maintained with prevention of retardant and accurate decision of idle.
