PURPOSE: A video decoding unit is provided to operate independently a variable length decoder and a run length decoder by using an SRAM of a PLD(Programmable Logic Device). CONSTITUTION: A variable length decoder(10) performs a variable length decoding process for an input video slice bit stream and outputs header information and coefficient information. A header buffer(20) stores temporarily the header information output from the variable length decoder(10). A run length decoder(30) outputs a coefficient value of a corresponding block according to the coefficient information output from the variable length decoder(10). A coefficient storage buffer(40) stores temporarily the coefficient value output from the run length decoder(30). |
