PURPOSE: A controlling method of a belt type continuously variable transmission for a vehicle compensates a target speed change ratio by the variation ratio of throttle opening angle on accelerating the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: According to the calculated variation ratio of throttle valve opening angle, whether a vehicle is accelerated or not is decided. If the vehicle is on accelerating, a compensation rpm(revolutions per minute) is compensated. If newly calculated compensation target input rpm is smaller than the previous compensation target input rpm, the newly calculated compensation target input rpm is compensated and the upper limit and lower limit of the compensation target input rpm are treated.
