PURPOSE: To obtain a uniform gap all over the display part including the peripheral part of the display part near the seal by a liquid crystal dropping system, to maintain and improve the display quality at a high level, to decrease contamination of the liquid crystal by the sealing material, to prevent deteriorations of the liquid crystal and an alignment layer due to the irradiation of UV rays, and to decrease the time required to uniformize the gap. CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting resin is used for the main seal 13, and a UV- curing resin is used for an auxiliary seal 12. The main seal 13 to seal a liquid crystal is formed into a closed curved line around the display part, and then the auxiliary seal 12 to maintain the inside of the panel in vacuum is formed into a closed curved line to include the first seal. A liquid crystal is dropped onto a transparent substrate 1 inside of the main seal 13, and then a transparent substrate 2 is laminated thereon in a vacuum atmosphere and irradiated with UV rays to harden the auxiliary seal 12. Then the liquid crystal display panel is left to stand for a specified period at atmospheric pressure to uniformize the gap, and then the main seal 13 is burned to harden.
