COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE FOR REFLECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND REFLECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a color filter substrate for reflection type liquid crystal display device reducing reflected light from a reflection layer in the peripheral part of a display picture region and having a flat alignment layer surface at least on the display picture region, and a reflection type liquid crystal display device provided therewith. CONSTITUTION: The substrate 11 and the counter substrate 12 are stuck together via a sealant 14 and a liquid crystal layer 13 is enclosed between the substrates. A color filter layer 16 in which coloring layers 16a are arrayed in a specified pattern is formed on the reflection layer 15 formed on the substrate 11. An effective display region, the display picture region and a region outside the effective display region and belonging to the display picture region (the peripheral part of the display picture region) are expressed as 50, 70 and 80 respectively. An outer circumferential part 90 of the color filter layer 16 is set outside the display picture region 70 and inside the sealant 14. The color filter layer 16 outside the effective display region 50 is optionally the overlapped coloring layers of two or three colors.
