PURPOSE: A method, protocol and computer program for operating a cellular radio telecommunications network are provided to reuse(Same cell reuse: SCR) a frequency within a same cell without assignment of a different signature to an SDMA user, sharing a game physical channel. CONSTITUTION: This invention allows assignment of different signatures to SDMA users in a GSM system. In this case, one single physical cell with an SDMA base station is separated into several logical GSM cells. This invention also extends to a method of operation a time division multiple access cellular radio telecommunications network, in which physical channels may be reused in the same cell, reused channels on the up link being differentiated by a time shift between them.
