PURPOSE: An element wire producing method rapidly produces an element wire for a tire steel cord with excellent rigidity without delamination phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: The third heat process(patenting heat process) is executed so that the structure after the final heat process is composed of fine pearlite and the lamella spacing of the pearlite is 0.10-0.15μm. The third wet wire drawing is executed so that reducing ratio per unit pass is 10-13% within a section where the initial deformation amount is under 1.0, 16-18% within a section where the middle deformation amount is 1.0-3.0 and 10-13% where the end deformation amount is over 3.0. The dice of the third wet wire drawing is a double dice.
