PURPOSE: A connector for the automatic connection of steel bars is provided to economize on expenses for connecting steel bars. CONSTITUTION: The connector for the automatic connection of steel bars comprises a grip instrument having at least one tightening instrument, and the grip instrument contains at least a pair of grips assembled to a hollow pipe having at least two longitudinal gaps(5), wherein the inner circumference of the grip instrument coincides with the profile of the circumference of the steel bar and contains a depressed groove corresponding to the deformed pattern of the steel bar. When the grip instrument is closed on the steel bar, the inner circumference of the grip instrument adheres closely to the circumference of the steel bar and the deformed pattern of the steel bar is fitted into the depressed groove of the grip instrument. The outside of the grip instrument is tapered to engage with a tightening nut(3) and contains a circular end having screws, and the inside of the tightening nut(3) contains screws and coincides with the outside of the grip instrument. When the tightening nut(3) revolves to tighten the grip instrument, the tapered end of the grip instrument moves toward the smaller circumferential part of the tightening nut(3) and closes the longitudinal gap between the grips, so that the grip contacts with the circumference of the steel bar compulsively. |
