PURPOSE: To provide an electric connector having a housing of contact insertion that detects the so-called reversed insertion of the contact in the initial stage of the contact and has a housing for guiding the insertion of the contact. CONSTITUTION: A contact 100 comprises contacting part 110 having a pair of spring pieces 112 standing at a base 111 and both ends of the base and contacting a mate contact 300 at front end thereof, and wire connecting part 120 connected with wire, at rear end of thereof. A housing 200 extends toward a contact receiving chamber 220 from a contact inserting opening 210, and has projected stripes 240 for guiding the pair of spring pieces 112 of the contact inserted from the contact inserting opening 210 with inserting of contact fitted at the pair of spring pieces.
