PURPOSE: A drain valve of an air tank for a vehicle is provided to regulate pressure automatically and to discharge impurities like water at the same time as operating manually. CONSTITUTION: In a drain valve(2), a space is divided by a diaphragm(10) to retain upper and lower pressure chambers(12,14) in upper and lower cases(4,6). In the middle part of the upper pressure chamber, a hole(16) is determined for combining a connector(18) composed of a hollow bolt and a filter is embedded in the connector by combining an air tank(22). By the drain valve, if the pressure inside the air tank increases, air is introduced into the upper pressure chamber through a filter(20). In the state, when the pressure of the lower pressure chamber is lower than the pressure of the upper pressure chamber, an edge around a main body(24) of the diaphragm is pressed and air flows in the lower pressure chamber. And, when the pressure inside the air tank becomes low, the pressure of the upper pressure chamber is lowered as well. Herein, the main body rises up for opening a drain hole(28).
