METHOD FOR SELECTIVE REDUCTION OF CONVERTER SLAG

PURPOSE: A process for obtaining dephosphorized molten pig iron without any special dephosphorization processes by reducing the phosphorous content in molten pig iron of reduced phosphorous during reduction of phosphorous of converter slag is provided, which reduces manufacturing cost by omission of a dephosphorizing process. CONSTITUTION: In a method for reducing converter slag using coal as a reducing agent, 8 to 12% by weight of CaF2 is added to slag to control a ratio of CaO/CaF2 of slag to 2.6 or less. The method recovers only molten pig iron while P2O5 of reduction slag is subjected to remaining in slag in the process of recovering Fe of converter slag.
