PURPOSE: To provide a receiver that receives low-band and a high-band signals of a VHF television broadcast program without switching a local oscillation circuit. CONSTITUTION: The receiver is provided with an oscillation circuit 41 and frequency divider circuits 42, 43 that frequency-divide an oscillation signal S41 of the oscillation circuit 41. Frequency division signals SLA, SLB or SHA, SHB of the frequency divider circuits 42, 43 are used for local oscillation signals and the frequency of the received signal SRX is converted into intermediate frequency signals SIFA, SIFB. The frequency divided signals SLA, SLB or SHA, SHB used for the local oscillation signals are selected to select the reception band. Changing the oscillating frequency of the oscillation circuit 41 for each of the reception bands changes the reception frequency.
