PURPOSE: A process for preparing a foamed ceramic material by using abrasion sludge and waste glass fiber is provided. Whereby, the obtained material has excellent mechanical strength and is suitable for building wall material and industrial insulating material. CONSTITUTION: The foamed ceramic material is prepared by the process consisting of: mixing 10 to 70% by weight of abrasion sludge, 10 to 70% by weight of waste glass fiber, 5 to 40% by weight of loess or kaolin, 5 to 35% by weight of diatomite or bentonite, 0 to 20% by weight of feldspar or limestone, 0 to 5% by weight of a foaming agent with water at a ball mill, extruding and drying; and inserting into a kiln, raising the temperature at a specified speed, foaming, sintering and furnace-cooling.
