PURPOSE: An operation method of PDP(plasma display panel) is provided to prevent drop of emission efficiency as a result of saturation of fluorescent substance due to continuous pulse in sustain discharge section by allowing some time after some quantity of ultraviolet ray, and generating no continuous discharge sustain pulse in discharge sustain section of each sub-field, and generating discharge sustain pulse again in the time that saturation of fluorescent substance is solved. CONSTITUTION: A PDP composes one frame screen in selective combination of several sub-fields by cell for an appointed time to display multi level color image on the PDP. It divides a discharge sustain section of an arbitrary sub-field of the several sub-fields into several discontinuous minute sections. It permits the several discharge sustain pulse continuously in a first time interval for the divided minute sections to enable continuous sustain discharge, and doesn't permit the discharge sustain pulse for a second time at the discontinuous several minute sections. |
