PURPOSE: A gas switch is provided to reduce the time for charging gas by reducing the length of a gas switch, to effectively discharge gas when a safety valve is operated, and to prevent the leakage of gas by tightly combining a gas switch body and a valve handle. CONSTITUTION: A cylinder(50) of a gas switch is formed in the shape matching to the inside shape of a gas switch to remove a gap between the inside of the gas switch and the cylinder. A cylinder cover(59) having inclined inner shape is combined to the upper portion of the cylinder. The upper portion of the cylinder is tightly fixed by an O-ring. The lower portion of the cylinder is supported on a cylinder supporting piece(51) having a screw. By completely and stably fixing the upper and lower portions of the cylinder, the entire length of the gas switch is reduced. A gas shut-off valve(54) and an impeller(55) in the cylinder are operated by springs(56a,56b) instead of a ball to completely close a gas discharge outlet when a gas container is overturned. A gas path is formed in the cylinder, so that gas flows effectively when residual gas is recovered or gas is charged.
