METHOD FOR STORING GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION FILE IN OBJECT-ORIENTED SPACE DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for storing a geographic information file in an object-oriented space database management system is provided to easily apply space data by effectively converting and storing a structure of the data on several points, lines and faces stored in a geographic information file in an object-oriented space database management system. CONSTITUTION: All sorts of space information stored in a geographic information file are converted into information suitable for an object-oriented space database management system. Related lines and schema information are extracted and stored in the system. Information on an ellipse in the geographic information file is stored in the lower class of one class of an engine of the system. Information on a text in the file is stored in the lower class of a graphic class the system. Information on a polyline in the file is stored in the lower class of a polyline class of the engine. Information on a line in the file is stored in the lower class of a simpleline class of the engine. Information on a polygon in the file is stored in the lower class of a polygon class of the engine.
