PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a short message of a cellular phone is provided to send an edited short message to a plurality of cellular phones of the opposite parties. CONSTITUTION: If an input of a message mode selection key is detected(102), a menu related to a message service function is displayed(104). If it is determined that an originating message is selected(106), a sub menu of the originating message is displayed(108). If it is determined that a message write is selected(110), a sub menu of a message write mode is displayed(112). If it is determined that a message edit method is selected(114), a sentence is written and edited(116). It is checked whether a telephone number for calling the opposite party is inputted(118). If it is determined that a telephone number to be called is inputted(120), it is checked whether a receiver addition key is inputted(122). If the receiver addition key is not inputted, message contents to be transmitted and the telephone number of the opposite party are displayed(124).
