PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver that can enhance a user interface by which program explanation information is transmitted. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver is provided with an extract means (3) that extracts information relating to a program, a storage means (6) that stores presence information denoting presence of the information relating to the program based on the result of extraction, a display means (9) that displays the information relating to the program and the presence of the information relating to the program, and a control means (8) that confirms the presence information stored in the storage means when receiving a request of the information relating to a prescribed program, executes the extract processing when the information relating to the prescribed program is in existence, displays the information relating to the prescribed program on the display means, and when the information relating to the prescribed program is not in existence, displays it that the information relating to the prescribed program is not inexistence onto the displays means.
