PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast system that can store a program in response to preference of users without the need for reserving program storage. SOLUTION: On the receiver side, digital broadcast programs, received in the past are classified according to their contents and records the frequency of reception of each category (S602). Programs belonging to the category with high frequency of reception are extracted among a program guide of digital broadcast programs (S603). Then, the extracted program is automatically reserved and recorded (S605).
