PURPOSE: An apparatus for demodulating a reverse link signal in a CDMA system and a method therefor are provided so that fading and signal interruption resulting from a multiple path and a multiple access can be overcome by calculating a frequency variation value of a PCG symbol and compensating for the variation. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of correlators(161,162,...169) are connected to an antenna for performing Hadamard transform on received signals by indexes(0-63) and outputting correlation values. A phase compensation unit(100) includes a memory(110), an adder(120) and an operation unit(150). The memory(110) stores the correlation values according to the correlators(161,162,...169), the indexes(0-63) and a PCG symbol. The operation unit(150) calculates frequency movement of the received signal according to the correlation value of the previously-received signal, calculates an average phase error according to the calculated frequency movement, compensates for the correlation value of the signal, and outputs the compensated signal by the correlators(161,162,...169), the indexes(0-63) and the PCG symbol. The adder(120) adds the correlation values having the identical Hadamard index and PCG symbol outputted from the operation unit(150) by the correlators(161,162,...169), the indexes(0-63) and the PCG symbol, and outputs the resultant values. A soft decision unit(170) selects the optimal Hadamard index according to an output value from an equal gain combining unit, and performs Hadamard transform thereon. |
