PURPOSE: A hit-and-run vehicle tracing system is provided to rapidly and accurately catch the position of a hit-and-run vehicle by tracing and storing an accident zone, accident time and a traveling route for a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION: A hit-and-run vehicle tracing system comprises: an air bag(12) containing an impact sensor(11); a navigator(13) transmitting vehicle information such as a license number and an accident zone when receiving a shock signal from the impact sensor; many artificial satellites(20) transmitting the vehicle information from the navigator; and a control center(30) receiving and recording the vehicle information from the artificial satellites. The control center transmits the vehicle information to the artificial satellites again and the artificial satellites trace the traveling route of a hit-and-run vehicle. Thus, the trace system readily traces vehicles around the accident zone as well as the hit-and-run vehicle by requesting the control center.
