PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact plane illumination apparatus with an improved productivity that can restrain contrast irregularity on viewing. SOLUTION: A frame 15 covering a light guide body 5 or the like includes a frame main body 19 and a first and a second opposite plates 17, 18 adjacent to the main frame 15. Front ends of the first and second oppose plates 17, 18 are bent in order to be closer to each other. If the frame 15 is arranged to grasp the transparent board base 8 with insertion, front ends of the first opposite plate 17 and the second opposite plate 18 are widened externally, suppress the transparent board base 8 with restoring force (elastic force) and fix a transparent board base 8. Compared with the case of using double-sided tape, the number of parts are reduced, the number of process of connection task are reduced, productivity is enhanced and compactness of the apparatus can be achieved. An unevenness of brightness and darkness occurring in the conventional art in which double-sided tape is arranged on the light incidence side of the transparent board can be prevented. |
