PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an external character font prepared by an information processor of a device body also for a character input device by transmitting the external character font stored in an external character file built in the information processor of the device body to the character input device as necessity. SOLUTION: When power is supplied, ten characters from the head of external character codes are downloaded from the information processor of the device body through a serial interface (I/F) 18 and stored in an external character memory 14B in a RAM 14. When a required external character is touched with a pen on a touch panel 20B in a state displaying an external character input board on a liquid crystal display part 20A on the basis of the downloaded external character codes, a touch panel controller 24 sends the external character code of the touched external character to the information processor of the device body through the serial I/F 18. |
