PURPOSE: A valve tappet is provided to absorb natural vibration generated in a valve spring according to valve driving operation by a cam, thereby restraining surging phenomenon of the valve spring. CONSTITUTION: A valve tappet(15) includes a cylindrical inner body(21), an outer body(23) covering the upper part of the inner body, a shim member(25) installed at the top side of the outer body, a spring retainer(29) installed at the upper part of a valve stem (27) installed inside the inner body, a spring seat installed at the lower part of the valve stem, and a valve spring(31) installed between the spring retainer and the spring seat, wherein an elastic member(37) is installed between the inner body and the outer body and formed of rubber.
