PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automatic transmission to make shifting with re-setting of a frictional engagement element whereby the stability in convergence into the target turbine revolving speed is enhanced. SOLUTION: In the inertia phase at up-shifting, the engagement side oil pressure is feedback controlled on the basis of the deviation of the actual value from the target value of turbine revolving speed, and the sum of the target value and the deviation is differentiated, and the differential value is processed with a low-pass filter and a second order delay filter while the differential value of the actual value is processed with low-pass filter so that the engagement side oil pressure is corrected with the deviation between the differential of the target value and the differential of the actual value.
