PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate an electric field on the surface of a suspension insulator and enhance contamination-resistance voltage characteristics. SOLUTION: To a head portion 12 of a porcelain insulator body 1 having a conical hat portion 11 and the head portion 12 is cemented a cap hardware 21, and to a hollow portion at a center of the lower face of the body is cemented a pin hardware 22. Also, there are included a cement portion 23 in which the pin hardware 22 is grafted into a central portion of a lower face thereof, as well as a plurality of ring ribs 31, 32 that are formed on a glaze- applied lower face portion 13 out of the cement portion, around the pin hardware 22. On the glaze-applied lower face 13, a ring electrode 41 using the pin hardware 22 as axis symmetry is formed at a top portion of the first rib 31 formed in a circular shape around the pin hardware 22.
